As a younger offshoot of the Proterial worldwide group, Proterial (India) Private Limited commenced its manufacturing operations of Amorphous Metal based soft magnetic components in August 2003. This was by possible by virtue of Proterial acquiring the Amorphous Metglas® business from Honeywell at a global scale.

With a strong foundation in manufacturing and engineering Soft Magnetic Core Components, at a large scale and with global reach, today Proterial (India) Private Limited stands as a center of excellence offering a wide array of products and distinctive materials for automotive, industrial infrastructure, electronics manufacturing and other thriving markets. As the world’s first inventor and leading producer of Amorphous Metal which is known by the brand name of Metglas®, we strive to transform the power distribution sector with a unique products that significantly lower magnetic core losses in electrical apparatuses such as transformers. Independent studies have shown that our technology helps reduce the “No Load losses” in a Distribution Transformer by 60 to 75 percent as compared to conventional Silicon Steel.

India holds the potential to be one of the fastest growing large economies of the world. Notwithstanding the headwinds faced by the COVID-19 pandemic, for any true multi-national organization, a global growth strategy is incomplete without India on its agenda. With an energy hungry nation of over a billion citizens to potentially cater to, Proterial expanded its India business in 2006 by introducing a large scale trading business for Advanced Metals, Components and Materials of Global Origin, largely from our Japan based principal factories and catering them to the Indian market.
